Turkey's Entrepreneur of the Year Crowned

Image Turkish businessman and former doctor Şükrü Bozluçay has been named as the entrepreneur of the year for his contributions to nuclear medicine. Bozlu Holding Chairman Şükrü Bozluolçay, a lifelong contributor to nuclear medicine and cancer treatment in Turkey, was presented with the entrepreneur of the year award yesterday at a ceremony in Istanbul.

LJ Tarman, vice president of marketing and public relations of the $1.2 billion NuVision Federal Credit Union, was recently recognized by Congress for her leadership and community relations outreach, and the $1.2 billion Huntington Beach, Calif., credit union itself was feted for its charitable work in communities it serves across Southern California and Arizona.

Dr. Oz Might be the Rx for Mag Publisher

Image Publishers looking for promising ideas are said to have approached talk show host Dr. Mehmet Oz about doing an eponymous magazine. According to the industry grapevine, Rodale, Hearst and Time Inc. are the most likely candidates. A spokesman for Oz would not comment on the rumors or potential suitors, but said: “It should be a surprise to no one that Dr. Oz would be a desirable partner in a magazine venture because of the popularity of the show.” Oz has been a prolific writer, churning out 10 books in the “You: The Owner’s Manual” series for Simon & Schuster’s Free Press.
