Chobani Coming This Fall to School Cafeterias
There’s a new kid that will soon be showing in school cafeterias across four states as part of a USDA pilot program – Chobani Greek yogurt. Last week, the USDA announced it had selected Chobani to provide Greek yogurt to K-12 school meal programs in New York, Idaho, Arizona and Tennessee.
“At Chobani, we believe that everyone, especially kids, should have access to simple, healthy options, both inside and outside of school,” Chobani wrote in a recent blog post. “We know that families are bringing Greek Yogurt into their homes because of its health benefits, so we’re ecstatic to help bring the same options to school cafeterias too. Offering more foods that deliver on taste and nutrition will encourage kids to develop healthy, balanced eating habits early on. Cravings for yogurt and broccoli? We’re on a mission to make it happen.”
The program will begin initially this fall and be evaluated later this year by the USDA.
