TCA 2014 Annual Report Released

Image Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) 2014 annual report released. The report highlights TCA's many programs, projects, and grants in 2014. TCA Chairman Dr. Yalcin Ayasli stated on the occasion, "Since its founding in 2007, TCA has worked to make a meaningful contribution to advancing the role of civil society and strengthening relations between the United States and Turkey. 2014 was a year of important milestones for TCA. Some of the year's highlights include that the TCA Study Tour Grants and Study Abroad Scholarship programs provided the opportunity for 98 American university students to study in Turkey. The TCA Washington Summer Internship Program brought 15 young Turkish Americans to work in Washington, DC for congressional offices and non-governmental organizations.
TCA's First Annual Turkish American Youth Leadership Congress attracted 29 Turkish American college students and recent graduates to Washington, DC to learn more about the U.S.-Turkey relationship and the political systems of both countries. TCA's Humanitarian Grants provided aid to Bosnia, Haiti, and the Philippines. Our outreach to Congress helped grow the Congressional Caucus on U.S.-Turkey Relations and Turkish Americans into one of the top three ethnic caucuses in Congress.

TCA's Academic Grant to the University of Utah Turkish Studies Project helped bring together scholars and expand international scholarship and major publications on Turkey. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the TCA board and staff, as well as to all of our partners in the Turkish American community and beyond, for their contributions to our common goal of strengthening U.S.-Turkey relations through people-to-people bridges."
