Muslim NYPD Officer Threatened, Told 'Go Back to Your Country'

Image By Ali Cinar- New York - New York City was shocked by an insult to NYPD officer by Brooklyn Resident. An 11-year-veteran of the NYPD Officer, Aml Elsokary, said she had just dropped off her 16-year-old son in Brooklyn Saturday  when a man has begun arguing with her son. When NYPD Officer Elsokary, who was not in uniform, Brooklyn Resident Christopher Nelson allegedly told her, "ISIS, I will cut your throat, go back to your country," before escaping the scene. Elsokary, a 34-year-old Muslim-American, is an 11-year-veteran of the NYPD. She was wearing a hijab at the time of the incident, according to the NYPD report.
New York Police Officer have  arrested Christopher Nelson and charged him with menacing as a hate crime and aggravated harassment. Nelson was ordered held on $50,000 bail, according to Acting Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez. New York City Mayor held a conference after the incident and gave his support to NYPD Officer to Elsokary.

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio stated that Officer Aml Elsokary is one of the 900 Muslim Americans in the NYPD-was attacked because of her fatih. Mayor Blasio added : We stand with her. There are over 900 Muslim-Americans currently serving on the NYPD. In addition,NYPD Muslim Officers Society stated that "This is a day after another female wearing #Hijab was harassed and people tried pulling her hijab and anti #Islamic remarks. We know #NYC is better and stronger than this. We must fight this ignorance and hate. We must stay strong and not let this divide us."

Letter from Brooklyn Borough President Adams to President-Elect Trump​
Former NYPD Officer, ​ Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams  has ​written​ ​a letter to Trump on the officers’ behalf last week. He indicated on his letter that  “Deep tensions” after November 9th elections that have resulted in a “disturbing and dangerous pattern of hate crimes” the NYPD says have spiked 115 % since Election Day. The increase has had a “particular impact on Jewish, LGBTQ and Muslim Communities,” Adams adds. “Without a doubt, the rhetoric of this campaign season has been a driving factor in a large number of these incidents.” Borough President Adams has also shared his letter on his tweet." I wrote to @RealDonaldTrump asking him to meet @NYPDNews Officer Elskokary and @NYPDMUslim." ​President Elect ​Trump has yet to respond.
