Turkish Manufacturer to Build US Headquarters in Muncie

The company plans to invest $12 million and create 70 new jobs over the next five years and will be the first tenant of the new Turkish Business Center in Muncie, occupying about 44,000 square feet of the 63,750-square-foot facility.
Kermit, founded in 2004 in Istanbul, produces roof tiles made largely of recycled resins for public and private sector clients across Europe and the Middle East. The company operates internationally in France, Libya, Moldova and Iran.
It employs 120 globally and plans to begin hiring administrative, production, insulation experts, warehouse and logistics positions next fall.
Kermit President Erdal Cakici cited Indiana’s friendly business atmosphere and the accommodating nature of local officials in helping make the site selection decision.
"This is the first of what we hope will be many businesses from Turkey to locate in Muncie-Delaware County," said Todd Donati, president of the Delaware County Commissioners, which helped attract Kermit USA to the area.
