TPF Announces the Establishment of the Istanbul Fund

Turkish Philanthropy Funds is devastated and deeply saddened by yesterday's terrorist attack in Istanbul, Turkey. Istanbul is an embodiment of freedom and peace, and represents the timeless values of human progress. Yet, today these values were taken over by fear. We know that these ideals are going to endure far beyond any act of terrorism and fear will be replaced by calm, bravery and life as Istanbul knew it. Until then, as Turkish Philanthropy Funds, we'd like to give a hand to Istanbul by establishing the #IstanbulFund to support the victims, their loved ones and our community at large.

"In today's uncertain times, we all know what terrorism is all about. We want to show the world that today we are all Istanbul and we stand in solidarity with Turkish people in the wake of this tragedy. We are all victims of these horrific acts as this is an attack not just on Istanbul but this is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values that we share. We extend our deepest condolences to all families who lost their loved ones and our sympathy to all that were injured " said Ilhan Akbil, President & CEO of Turkish Philanthropy Funds.

The #IstanbulFund will support:
Nonprofits that are supporting the victims and families
First responders on the ground
Organizations providing mental health support to the affected community, including not only the victims and families, but also the population at large
Other related needs not yet anticipated
