Turkey's Eastern Province Gets Own Air Carrier

Banking on this surge, an entrepreneur from Turkey's eastern province of Van has founded a new airline, which will go by the name "Van Way Airlines." The company, set up by Van-based businessman Aslan Bayram, is set to make its maiden flight on Jan. 15. It will offer flights to three other Turkish provinces, Gaziantep, Trabzon and Ankara, Bayram said at a press meeting Tuesday. "At first, the idea to start an airline seemed a very risky business but the support I have received made me make the decision," Bayram said. (Source: Hurriyet Daily News, Foto credit: Gazete Vatan)
