Innovative Brands Flourish in the American Industrial Kitchen Industry with Galaxy Group

Ten years ago, Atlantic Supermarket Equipment start up made a significant breakthrough for the industrial kitchen industry when they took their first steps into the American market in Brooklyn. Hakan İnan and his partners imported products from Türkiye, which gradually gained recognition in the market. Hakan İnan, CEO and co-founder of Galaxy Group, an American company that imports kitchen equipment from Türkiye, shared insights into their journey. Galaxy Group currently supplies over 150 products to the American market. Their main suppliers include Ugur, Empero, Kaplanlar, Izodoor, Inoksan and Capri The Group, aiming to distribute its industrial kitchen and supermarket equipment products wholesale throughout the United States, held a grand opening on May 16th, 2023, in Kearny, New Jersey.

(“Hanover” or “the Company”), parent company of Hanover Community Bank, and Savoy Bank (“Savoy”) are pleased to jointly announce that Hanover and Savoy have entered into a definitive agreement pursuant to which Savoy Bank will merge into Hanover Community Bank in a stock and cash transaction valued at approximately $63 million. The agreement was unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both companies. Directors of Savoy have executed voting agreements in favor of this combination. The Savoy directors own approximately 49% of Savoy’s outstanding shares.

Chobani Repurposes SoHo Cafe Into Food Pantry Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

The café will open twice a week for the foreseeable future to give free products and support families and food bank workers. The Café food pantry is staffed by Chobani Café employees and volunteers from the #BeAShepherd initiative. Chobani is the Turkish word for “shepherd” and inspired the “giving back” values Chobani wants to embody at this time.

Turkish, US Joint Firm Wattozz to be Listed in Nasdaq

Wattozz Holdings Inc., a Turkish-US joint defense company, will be listed in the New York-based Nasdaq stock market, Turkish conglomerate Albayraklar Holding announced on Monday. Last week, the US-based energy firm Enerkon purchased 20% of shares of Albayraklar Defense, a subsidiary of Albayraklar Holding, and the two sides established Wattozz Holdings Inc. in the US, according to Nasdaq's website.

Halkbank Wants U.S. to Toss Case It Won’t Recognize

A lawyer for a Turkish bank accused by the U.S. of aiding an Iranian scheme to evade economic sanctions appeared in a New York courtroom for the first time on Tuesday and said the bank continued to dispute the U.S.’s legal authority over it and planned to seek dismissal of the case. The state-owned bank, known as Halkbank, has so far refused to accept a U.S. legal summons or other court papers, and hasn’t entered a plea to charges filed against it last month. The American lawyer for the bank, Andrew Hruska of King & Spalding, is seeking permission for a “special appearance” to seek dismissal of the case without the bank first having to formally accept and answer the charges.
