Tiger Woods Hit A Golf Ball from Europe to Asia
Tiger Woods says he is looking forward to playing in the upcoming Turkish Airlines Open in Istanbul after a fairly successful 2013. The American is set to play a stroke-play event for the first time in six weeks in Istanbul in what is a rare appearance on the European Tour for the 14-time Major winner.
The 37-year-old, who claimed five titles on the PGA Tour but failed to win the FedEx play-offs and also struggled in all four Majors this year, has been tempted to Turkey by a reported $3million appearance fee.
Fellow heavyweights Justin Rose, Martin Kaymer, Lee Westwood and FedEx champion Henrik Stenson are all also on the bill in Istanbul and Woods is looking forward to the challenge.
"I had a great time during my first visit to Turkey," he said. "And I'm looking forward to playing there once again." Golf agent Chubby Chandler Tweeted some pictures of Tiger about to hit the shot, noting that he was on the bridge 20 minutes after landing from his 12-hour flight to Turkey. Good thing Tiger didn’t hit one of those vertical suspenders on the bridge. That could have brought back painful memories of Augusta. (By Chris Chase\usatoday.com)
