Turkish Businessman Granted 'Steve Jobs' Trademark for Clothing Line

A translated statement on the trademark application said: "Opening overseas with this name will be an advantage for us considering that we will be mainly exporting.

"We think that Steve Jobs is a worldwide known brand that will never be forgotten. It is also obvious that it will facilitate our work on overseas advertisements of our products."

The trademark is listed as having "protected" status, although it is unclear whether that is the same as "granted" in the U.S..

Jobs was known for wearing black turtle neck jumpers, jeans and trainers, and so it is possible that the man hoped to launch a branded range.

But Apple is known to be fiercely protective of its brand and everything associated with it. In 2011, the firm successfully stopped the launch of a Steve Jobs action figure, complete with turtle neck, trainers and mini iPad.

Last month, the company also trademarked the interior design of its Apple Stores, after a number of fake versions were found and shut down in China.(PanARMENIAN.Net)
