The Most Influential Turkish-American Women Are Crowned

To honor and acknowledge these successful Turkish-American role models, the Award Ceremony was held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York where 30 influential women leaders from across the U.S. competed in 30 categories to be crowned the winner. The night also honored the world-famous Dr. Mehmet Oz.
Ertan Yalçın, Turkish Consulate General of New York, Carolyn Maloney, US Congresswoman, Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ, Chairperson of Doğan TV Holding, Hamdi Ulukaya, Founder of Chobani, Vuslat Doğan Sabancı, Chairwoman of Hurriyet, President of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce Nancy Ploeger, Turkish Philanthropy Funds Chairman Mustafa K. Abadan, a delegate of the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey (KAGIDER) and the Women and Democracy Association (KADEM) participated in the awards ceremony. 24 of 30 influential Turkish-Americans women from 13 different states were present at this unique, first of its kind event.
TURKOFAMERICA followed certain criteria to select these names, such as:
- U.S. Media presence: Including newspapers, specialized periodicals, newswires and broadcast transcripts from all over the world in the past 12 months,
- How actively and successfully they wield their power within their organization or brand, sector and on the U.S. stage,
- The size and importance of the woman’s business in the U.S. economy,
The gala night was organized by TOA Consulting, a New York based business management consulting firm. The firm had organized The 50 Most Influential Turkish-American Award Ceremony last October. The firm helps international companies to reach their full potential in the USA. Turkish Philanthropy Funds was the philanthropic partner of the gala and Sierra Nevada Corporation, First Republic Bank and Alterra International were the platinum sponsors of the night.
