Chobani Sends Yogurt to Winter Olympics

Image TWIN FALLS, Idaho • Chobani employees chanted “USA! USA! USA!” Tuesday as they waited for several members of the U.S. Olympic Ski and Snowboard Team to appear. Halfpipe ski competitors Aaron Blunck, 17, from Crested Butte, Colo., and Brita Sigourney, 24, of Carmel, Calif., were at Twin Falls’ Chobani yogurt plant to launch the company’s sponsorship of the ski team. The two athletes are heading to Sochi, Russia, to compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics, and a shipment of Chobani Greek yogurt will go with them.

Yogurt Joins Super Bowl Snack Parade

Image Who would have thought X Super Bowls ago, or even V, that there could be as many commercials for yogurt during a game as for candy? That seems likely to happen on Feb. 2, when Fox broadcasts Super Bowl XLVIII: Two brands of Greek-style yogurt, Chobani and Dannon Oikos, have bought commercial time in the game, as have two candy brands, M&M’s and Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups. Of course, other snacks will be Super Bowl advertisers, like Doritos, as well as drinks like Coca-Cola, along with the SodaStream home soda maker. And Pepsi sponsors the halftime show.

Sierra Nevada Corporation Announces Milestone in Dream Chaser Program

Image Sparks, Nev. – Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) announced its completion of the Certification Plan Review for the entire Dream Chaser® Space System (DCSS). This represents Milestone 7 under its Commercial Crew Integrated Capability (CCiCap) agreement, the third phase of development under NASA’s Commercial Crew Program (CCP) to develop privately owned and operated crew vehicles to access low-Earth orbit. In passing Milestone 7, the DCSS has successfully completed one of the most critical milestones on the road to Dream Chaser full design certification and outlined how SNC would operate its first crewed flight to the International Space Station (ISS).

LA Clippers to Sign Hedo Turkoglu

Image After Doc Rivers told reporters on Monday that the LA Clippers were looking at Hedo Turkoglu, reports are emerging that they will in fact sign the free agent for the rest of the season. The Clippers have been looking for depth behind Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, and Turkoglu impressed the team during recent workouts.
