Chobani Donates 250K to Chenango Memorial Hospital

Image Chenango Memorial Hospital is celebrating the completion of a renovation project. It includes the addition of a new x-ray machine at its building that houses orthopedics, pediatrics, surgery and the walk-in. Chobani's Shepherd's Gift Foundation donated $250,000 to the hospital so it could buy the machine. 5 other foundations donated a combined $300,000 so a small addition could be built to house the new equipment. It will also allow the hospital's campus to be reconfigured.

Turkish Businessman Enver Oren Passes Away

Image CEO of Ihlas Holding Enver Oren will be laid to rest on Saturday after a funeral at the Eyup Sultan Mosque in Istanbul.  CEO of Turkey's Ihlas Holding, Enver Oren passed away on Friday at the age of 74. Oren was receiving treatment at the Sisli Memorial Hospital's intensive care unit. He was hospitalized in January. Enver Oren will be laid to rest on Saturday after a funeral at the Eyup Sultan Mosque in Istanbul.

Azeri Company to Sign Partnership with Turkish Businessman

Image The Azerbaijani state oil company, Socar, is to partner up with Turkish businessman Remzi Gür on local market commercial operations by establishing three companies, the head of the company’s Turkey unit informed. “Our cooperation with Remzi Gür will bring synergy in our downstream – oil product sales, marketing and distribution – and local operations,” Socar Turkey President Kenan Yavuz told a news agency.

Flagstone Project on Watson Island Moving Ahead, City Says

Flagstone Development is in the process of finalizing agreements with equity partners and lining up financing for development of its $640 million Island Gardens project on Watson Island, the city of Miami reports. I had queried the city about the status of the long-awaited project on Friday after thinking that the light rail system I blogged about on Dec. 28 could make the project better connected to Miami Beach and the mainland. Watson Island is currently known as the home for the Jungle Island attraction and the Miami Children's Museum.
