NYPD Is Here for Immigrants

Image The NYPD announced that they are not going to inquire about the immigration status of crime victims, witnesses, or others who call or approach the police seeking assistance. The countries largerst police department says its press release: "The NYPD does not conduct civil immigration enforcement."

Royal Caribbean Latest Cruise Line to Cancel Turkey Ports of Call

Image Royal Caribbean has canceled all scheduled stops in Turkey for the 2017 season, becoming the latest cruise line to do so following Carnival Corporation’s Cunard Line and P&O Cruises December decisions to stop sailing to the Mediteranean nation. Disney Cruise Line, Crystal Cruises and MSC Cruises are among other cruise lines that cancelled all ports of call to Turkey in 2016. Royal Caribbean says it made the decision due to the current unpredictability of events happening in the country, and that they are keeping  the safety and wellbeing of both guests and crew members in mind after numerous terrorist attacks in the country in last year.

Turkish Dramas Focus of Interest in Latin America

Image Turkey has exceeded $100,000 million in return from Turkish TV drama exports in recent years, and is now getting ready to collaborate with Latin American countries to enhance the industry, daily Hürriyet has reported. The Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) has been in efforts to mobilize and increase the contribution of Turkish dramas to tourism and trade. “Projects with Latin American countries will contribute both to Turkey’s promotion and create a warm environment to increase trade,” said Aykut Eken, the chairman of DEİK Turkish-American Business Council.

To Detect Prying Eyes in the sky, Dedrone Raises $15 million

Image For better or worse, drones are about to become a lot more prevalent in US airspace. The FAA expects sales of drones to spike domestically from 2.5 million last year to 7 million by 2020. Now, a startup that detects drones and helps prevent unwanted aerial intrusions, Dedrone, has closed a $15 million Series B round of venture funding. Investors in San Francisco-based Dedrone included Cisco Executive Chairman John Chambers, and Felicis Ventures, which led the round. The founder and Managing Director of Felicis Ventures, Aydin Senkut, said the deal represents the largest check his firm has cut in a single round to-date.
