After the following report of Mr. Y. Amanon, Head of MAGATE, on November 08, 2011, on the nuclear program of Iran, the tension between USA, Europe, Israel and Iran increased up to maximum level. The know report notes that the nuclear program of Iran is designed for military purposes. In spite of the requirements of the UN Security Council and MAGATE, Iran continues the enrichment of uranium. The report specially emphasizes that MAGATE has not assurance that Iran applies non-military nuclear program since Iran has not built sufficient relationship with MAGATE, and therefore MAGATE may not confirm that the nuclear materials shall be applied for peaceful purposes. Turkish-Americans Need to be More Actively Involved in US Politics

Image As the 32nd Annual Turkish-American National Convention began in Washington on Thursday, participants of the event urged Turkish-Americans to effectively participate in US politics to make their voices more widely heard. The convention was jointly organized by the Federation of Turkish American Associations (TADF), the Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) and the Washington-based Turkish American Community Centers (TACC). The event began with a seminar titled “Grassroots Day,” hosted by the Turkish Coalition of America (TCA).

NEW YORK -  At a well attended memorial service at the Consulate of France in New York, Consul General Philippe Lalliot spoke privately with JointMedia News Service. Calling Monday “a difficult moment for all, but a day of solidarity,” the Consul said, “the entire national community of France is devastated by the tragedy. There is a profound sense of unity.”

US Senators to Introduce New Armenian 'Genocide' Measure

Image Two US senators are set to introduce a resolution that labels the 1915 killing of Armenians during the last days of the Ottoman Empire as “genocide,” the Armenian Assembly of America (AAA) has said. The AAA said in a statement on Monday that Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) along with Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL) will officially introduce the measure later this month. Specifically, the statement highlighted the fact that “the Roman persecution of the Christians, the Turkish massacre of Armenians, the extermination of millions of Jews and Poles by the Nazis are outstanding examples of the crime of genocide.”

Former U.S. Ambassador Matthew Bryza Retired From Diplomatic Service, Settled In Turkey

Image BAKU. February 28, 2012: Former U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza retired from government service at U.S. Department of State and moved with his family to Turkey. Currently, he works at a Turkish bank in Istanbul, an informed source told Turan. In his interview with the Turkish media, Bryza reiterated that "he fell victim to the Armenian Diaspora,” which could not forgive him for marrying an American woman of Turkish origin, Zeyno Baran.

French Court Overturns French Genocide Denial Law; Turkey Welcomes Ruling

Image France's Constitutional Council has ruled that a law concerning the mass killings of Armenians a century ago violates the country's constitution. The law, passed in December, made it a crime to deny that the killings of some 1.5 million Armenians by Ottoman Turks in 1915 constituted genocide. Punishment under the legislation was set at up to one year in prison and a fine of 45,000 euros.

TCA Reaches Out to FOX News and News Corporation

On February 1, the Turkish Coalition of America sent letters to Rupert Murdoch, Chairman of the News Corporation, and Roger Ailes, Chairman of News Corporation-owned FOX News, to register its concern with anti-Turkey sentiments voiced on FOX News during the January 17 Republican presidential debate. The letters were prompted by media reports that the News Corporation is looking to expand its presence in Turkey by buying the Sabah-ATV media outlet.
