Image Not long after a branch of Turkish cafe chain Simit Sarayı opened in New York City, a historic and famous köfte (a traditional meat dish) seller, Tarihi Sultanahmet Köftecisi Selim Usta, has attempted to commence operations in the US, suggesting that growing foreign demand for Turkish food products has attracted local Turkish companies in recent years.

California Parole Board Denies Parole to JCAG Terrorist Hampig "Harry" Sassounian

Image On February 5, 2015, the California Department of Corrections Parole Board denied Hampig Sassounian release on parole, because he continues to pose a public safety risk due to his violent extremism in advocating the Armenian allegation of genocide.  This was Sassounian's fourth parole denial in ten years.
 

SNC Acquires 328 Support Services GmbH

Image Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) has completed acquisition of a UK- and Germany-based aircraft company, 328 Support Services GmbH (328), owner of the type certificate and intellectual property (IP) rights for design, manufacturing, maintenance and certification of the 200 existing Dornier 328 (D328) prop and jet aircraft. In addition, SNC holds IP rights and supplemental type certificates (STCs) for modernization technologies that allow the Dornier 328 aircraft to be used by the U.S. for multi-mission applications ranging from transport and cargo to surveillance and medical use.

Cyber Security System Aims to Reach Whole World

Image The domestic cyber security systems developed by Comodo, which gained fame for the online security solutions they built for U.S. President Barack Obama's election campaign websites, will be exported to the world, according to Comodo's founder Melih Abdulhayaoğlu. "We have 13,000 business partners in the world. Our new product, Korugan, is currently being exported to Germany. We are planning to reach out to the rest of the world as well," Abdulhayaoğlu said in an interview with Turkish magazine Ekonomist.

Coca-Cola CEO Meets with Costa Rica President on Expansion Plans

SNC Completes Dream Chaser Study with German Aerospace Industry Partners

Image Sierra Nevada Corporation’s (SNC) Space Systems and OHB System AG (OHB) announce the completion of the initial Dream Chaser® for European Utilization (DC4EU) study co-funded by the Space Administration of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and OHB. OHB and DLR are both based in Germany. As announced by the companies in late 2013, SNC and OHB entered into an agreement to study the feasibility of using SNC’s Dream Chaser spacecraft for a variety of missions. The DC4EU study thoroughly reviewed applications for the Dream Chaser including crewed and uncrewed flights to low-Earth orbit (LEO) for missions such as microgravity science, satellite servicing and active debris removal (ADR).

Jazz at Lincoln Center to Redesing, A Lead Gift by Mica Ertegun

Image Jazz at Lincoln Center plans to renovate the public spaces in Frederick P. Rose Hall, its home in the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle. The project will commence in July, with an estimated cost of $18.5 million and a scheduled completion of December, according to an announcement to be made on Thursday. The redesign comes a decade after the opening of Rose Hall, known internally as the House of Swing, a roughly $130 million performing arts complex hailed at the time as an unprecedented achievement for any jazz organization. Since then there have been thousands of events in the hall’s three main rooms — the 1,233-seat Rose Theater, the glass-faced Appel Room (formerly the Allen Room), and Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola — and the facility has become a prominent feature on the cultural landscape of New York City.

Chobani Triples Space with Soho Move

Image Yogurt company Chobani is expanding its space nearly threefold and getting the test kitchen of its dreams in a move from one Soho building to another, General Growth Properties’ 200 Lafayette Street. The rest of the building is occupied by J.C. Penney, which is giving up the top two floors to make way for Chobani. For the past three years, the yogurt maker has been in 11,500 square feet at 72 Spring Street, and will expand its square footage to 33,560 with the move to the sixth and seventh floors of the new building, the New York Post reported.
