The Dream Chaser space vehicle from the Sierra Nevada Corporation will begin testing of its flight and runway landing systems at NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center in Edwards, California. The Dream Chaser is another commercially built spacecraft that is being built as part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program (CCP). According to the May 15, 2013 NASA article Sierra Nevada Corporation Dream Chaser Testing Begins at NASA Dryden, Langley, one of the primary goals of the CCP is to provide “safe, reliable and cost-effective U.S. human access to and from the International Space Station and low-Earth orbit”.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the Turkish-American Culture and Civilization Center in Maryland. Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Erdogan said that the multi-functional monument would be the honor of the (Turkish) nation. Erdogan thanked everyone who started the project for the center and those who purchased the land and developed the project. "I believe that this center would be a place visited by not only those who have come from Turkey but also friends living in the United States," Erdogan stressed.
