Turkish Heritage Festival at Tysons Corner Center Plaza
In conjunction with Turkish Airlines and the American Turkish Association of Washington D.C., come celebrate the rich culture of Turkey at the first ever Turkish Heritage Festival at Tysons Corner Center Plaza! Opening ceremonies will be held on Friday, September 12th at 4pm, with a dusk showing of the acclaimed travel documentary “Istanbul Unveiled,” to follow. A company that touted green coffee extract as a diet aid was accused of using junk science to back up its claims. Dr. Mehmet Oz, known to television viewers simply as Dr. Oz, once touted a natural extract to viewers as helpful in losing weight. On Monday, the company behind the miracle ingredient agreed to pay $3.5 million to settle accusations by the Federal Trade Commission that it used phony science to back up its claims.
The Turkish Cultural Foundation's (TCF) "Who's Who in Turkish Culture and Art" online database passed 3,000 listings this month. The TCF Who's Who features living Turkish artists, artisans and experts in over 50 categories such as Visual, Traditional and Applied Arts, Conservation, Music, Dance, Fashion, Cinema and Theater.
Hedo Turkoglu did next to nothing from a statistical standpoint for the Clippers a season ago, after being added in the middle of the year in an attempt to bolster the bench with a veteran player that could help the team for its run into the postseason.
