Sierra Nevada Claims USAF Contract for A-29 Super Tucano
The U.S. Air Force (USAF) for a second time has selected the Embraer A-29 Super Tucano for its Light Air Support (LAS) requirement, according to Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), the U.S. proponent. (Kitco News) - The chief executive of low-cost, mid-tier gold producer Alamos Gold Inc. (AGI) says Turkey wants to become a significant mining jurisdiction, and he also looks for more mergers within the gold-mining sector. Canada-based Alamos Gold owns and operates the Mulatos Mine in Mexico and produced 200,000 ounces of gold at a cash operating cost of $355 an ounce in 2012, which company officials have described as their best year ever. Alamos also has advanced-stage exploration projects in Turkey.
Pegasus, Turkey’s largest private air carrier, is planning to open up its shares to the public, according to the company. The company applied to the Capital Markets Board (SPK) for a public offering on Feb. 22; the shares are expected to be opened either this year or next year. The company initiated research in 2011 with the intention of setting up an initial public offering (IPO) earlier but had to postpone the plans due to waning investor interest in capital markets during the global financial crisis.
Chobani has named Boston-based independent Boathouse its lead creative agency. The Greek yogurt brand's advertising was previously handled by Publicis Groupe's Leo Burnett, which won the business in late 2011 after a pitch. Chobani moved the account to Boathouse in early 2013 without a review, following the expiration of its contract with Leo Burnett at the end of 2012. A spokesperson for the brand confirmed it is no longer working with Leo Burnett.
