TCA 2014 Annual Report Released

Image Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) 2014 annual report released. The report highlights TCA's many programs, projects, and grants in 2014. TCA Chairman Dr. Yalcin Ayasli stated on the occasion, "Since its founding in 2007, TCA has worked to make a meaningful contribution to advancing the role of civil society and strengthening relations between the United States and Turkey. 2014 was a year of important milestones for TCA. Some of the year's highlights include that the TCA Study Tour Grants and Study Abroad Scholarship programs provided the opportunity for 98 American university students to study in Turkey. The TCA Washington Summer Internship Program brought 15 young Turkish Americans to work in Washington, DC for congressional offices and non-governmental organizations.

Nobel Winner Says Education Priority for Turkey On Return Home

Ankara (AFP) - The US-based Turkish-American scientist who won the 2015 Nobel Chemistry Prize said education, in particular for women, was the top priority for Turkey as he made a rare visit home to meet President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Aziz Sancar is only the second Turk to have won a Nobel prize, after novelist Orhan Pamuk who won the Nobel for literature in 2006, and was accorded a warm welcome from Erdogan at his controversial new presidential palace on the outskirts of Ankara.
