European Day of Jewish Culture in Istanbul

For the past 10 years, on the first Sunday of September, from Germany to Portugal, from France to Russia, from England to Spain with 30 different European countries participating, the European Day of Jewish Culture has been held. The purpose of the organization running, which comes up with a different theme each year, is to share the cultural and historical heritage of the Jews with the rest of the people in these countries.

Police officers from the New York Police Department (NYPD) joined Turkish and American NGO's in a commemoration event held in Times Square for victims of the deadly PKK bombings in Istanbul on Dec. 10, which killed 44 people, including 36 police officers. NYPD Muslim Officers Society Chairman Adeel Rana said in a speech that NYPD officers had joined the event to support Turkish colleagues and to give a message of solidarity, adding that all the world should be united in the fight against terrorism.
NEW YORK (June 30, 2016) -- The 2016 Summer Fancy Food Show, which ended Tuesday, was the largest in exhibit space since it was established in 1954. More than 2,670 exhibitors filled the halls of Javits Center in New York with the latest in specialty food and beverages from across the U.S. and 55 countries. Owned and produced by the Specialty Food Association, the show ran June 26 – 28. It is the largest such marketplace in North America. More than 47,000 specialty food professionals were in the exhibit halls, which spanned the equivalent of six football fields. "The show is the place to be to discover the latest in specialty food and what's next for stores and restaurants," says Laura Santella-Saccone, the Association's chief marketing officer. "Record sales for specialty food have contributed to the strength of our show." 
Minister of EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Volkan Bozkır has claimed that the EU is in need of Turkey with increasing urgency, saying, "The EU does not have the luxury of refusing Turkey's membership." At a reception on Thursday organized by Turkish citizens and academics who study in Washington and at the Turkish embassy there, Bozkır spoke about Turkey's EU bid in a speech and informed participants about laws that have been enacted during the membership process.
TCF is pleased to announce the establishment of the UNESCO Chair on Management and Promotion of World Heritage Sites: New Media and Community Involvement at Kadir Has University in Istanbul. TCF is a parter in the Kadir Has UNESCO Chair together with Bilkom and World Heritage Travelers Association and will support the work of the Chair in the area of research and international educational exchanges.
