Muhtar Kent Named ‘Global Turkish Professional of Year’

Coca Cola Company Chair Muhtar Kent has been named the “Global Turkish Professional of the Year” at the Businesspeople of the Year Awards, organized by the Turkish business magazine Ekonomist. The award was presented to Kent late on Nov. 6 in Istanbul by Doğan Holding Founder and Honorary President Aydın Doğan. “For any Turk who has worked abroad for the last 40 years, like me, one of the biggest responsibilities is always to support the Turkey brand,” Kent said upon accepting his award.

Comodo Launches Free Service to Remove Website Malware

Many recent security breaches have been caused by poor website safety, allowing hackers to exploit vulnerabilities to steal data. Cyber security company Comodo is launching a free malware removal service for websites to help businesses stay secure. Once a business submits a request Comodo's security operations center analysts will instantly remove all malware, perform hack repairs, including checking the files, databases and any malicious code running to remove infection from the site, and keep the customer fully updated.

Today at the White House, Vice President Mike Pence met with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim to reaffirm the enduring strategic partnership between the United States and Turkey. The leaders expressed hope that their meeting would help to usher in a new chapter in U.S.-Turkey relations and agreed on the need for constructive dialogue, as friends and Allies, on bilateral challenges.

Two Turkish Americans Elected to Public Office in 2017

Two Turkish Americans were elected to public office in the November 7, 2017 elections. This brings the total number of Turkish Americans currently serving in public office to four and the total number of Turkish Americans ever elected to public office to ten.
