On Monday, Dr. Mehmet Oz, a popular television host of "The Dr. Oz Show" led the charge for a two year pilot workplace-wellness program designed to promote healthy habits at work. “Health happens in the Workplace” was launched with Yvonne R. Walker, President of SEIU, State Controller John Chiang, and State Treasurer Bill Lockyer pushing forward to improve state worker’s health to save money on long term cost.

'Dr. Oz Show' Helps Keep Upstate Businesses Healthy

Dr. Mehmet Oz, of "The Dr. Oz Show," is seen weekday afternoons on WYFF. "As soon as Dr. Oz airs at 4 o'clock we get phone calls," Vanessa Rampey, an employee of Garner's Natural Life in Greenville, told WYFF. "They're asking, 'Do you have it? Do you have it?'"

An analysis of the impact of the biopharmaceutical sector on the economy of New York, using data primarily from 2006, indicates that the biopharmaceutical industry generated $29.1 billion in total output, of which $16.0 billion was generated from direct employment. New York State is responsible for 6.8% of all direct biopharmaceutical output nationally.
