Turkish developer Sedesco is putting together a Billionaires’ Row assemblage with the purchase of a development site for $80 million. Sedesco closed last week on its purchase of the property at 41 West 57th Street from Florida-based seller Asuman Polat, property records filed with the city Tuesday show. The purchase gives Midtown-based Sedesco about 100,000 square feet of buildable area on the block between Fifth and Sixth avenues. The company in 2012 paid $71.5 million to buy an adjacent property at 50 West 58th Street.

ISTANBUL (Reuters) - The lira firmed slightly on Tuesday as investors weighed up the prospect of an improvement in Turkey-U.S. ties after U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said he expected talks this week over the fate of a U.S. pastor on trial in Turkey.  The lira has lost nearly 40 percent of its value against the U.S. currency this year on concerns about President Tayyip Erdogan’s grip on monetary policy and, more recently, due to a diplomatic row between Turkey and the United States.

TURKEY'S president Recep Tayyip Erdogan launched a scathing attack against the EU during his speech at the General Assembly of the United Nations today, arguing Brussels should provide more money to help the country facing the unprecedented migrant crisis. Mr Erdogan lashed out at the European Union during his speech at the General Assembly. Speaking about the refugee crisis that sparked from the horrific civil war in Syria, the Turkish leader said the EU has not done quite enough to support the efforts made by Turkey. He said: "Turkey has welcomed four million refugees during the last years, 3.4m of which came from Syria.
