First Ever Chobani Yogurt Shop Opens

Image Yogurt lovers can take their obsession to the next level with the grand opening of the Chobani flagship store this week in New York City. The first of it’s kind, you can get handcrafted yogurt creations made before your eyes, in the new SoHo shop. Today I stopped by to try out a few of the custom flavors that are carefully crafted so you don’t wind up creating a calorie-loaded mess (you know you add one too many toppings when left to your own devices).
Complete nutritional information is provided for the prepared recipes. And you get to choose between 0% or 2% plain Greek yogurt—they’ve calculated the calories for both! Plus, all Chobani creations come in a reusable glass cup, even if you are ordering to go. For every returned glass you get 25 cents off your next purchase. Not only is it eco-friendly it just feels so much more decadent!

Today I tested out the Pistachio + Chocolate, featuring Turkish pistachios, dark chocolate chunks, clover honey, fresh orange segments and mint leaves as well as the Fig + Walnut, which is made of Turkish figs, walnuts, and honey. Next time I stop by I’m going to walk on the wild side and try a few of the savory flavors like Chobani + Olive Oil or Chobani + Cucumbers, which are both lightly salted and served with pita chips.

If you’re visiting New York City, be sure to stop by, they’re located at 150 Prince Street, New York, NY (at the intersection of West Broadway). If not, leave a comment on chobani.com. I asked about plans for new shops and Chobani said they will be moving forward based on consumer interest. (By Karen Borsari - shape.com)
