Matousec: Comodo Is Number 1, Again!
Comodo Internet Security is once again at the top of the charts in the Matousec Proactive Security Challenge 64. As of January 18, 2013, the independent tester of security software ranked Comodo Internet Security 2013 Premium (v6) number 1 in tests of 38 internet security suite. Comodo was the only suite to receive a rating of “Excellent” and only one of three products that Matousec rated as “Recommended”!

A man in Turkey was reportedly granted a trademark for 'Steve Jobs' in the country for a line of clothing, it has emerged. As Digital Spy said citing Patently Apple, a businessman named Kamil Kürekçi lodged an application to trademark the name of the late Apple co-founder in 2011 with the Turkish Trademark Office. The 'STEVE JOBS' trademark was filed in October 2011 - the month that Jobs passed away - and specifically related to a textile brand.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently announced the much anticipated provisional unlawful presence waiver rule, which will reduce the time U.S. citizens are separated from their qualified immediate relatives, who are in the process of getting their green cards. The final rule establishes a process that allows qualified relatives of U.S. citizens to apply for a provisional unlawful presence waiver before they depart the U.S. to attend immigrant visa interviews to obtain their green cards in their countries of origin. This was not possible under the previous rule, where the applicant must file for an unlawful presence waiver at the U.S. Embassy abroad and only after departing the U.S.
Muhtar Kent, 60, was born in New York, where his father was Turkish consul general. After finishing high school in Turkey in 1971, he studied economics at the University of Hull and for an MBA at Cass Business School in London. Kent joined The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta in 1978 and rose through the company via a variety of leadership positions in its US, Europe and Asia operations. After a stint with Efes Beverages Group from 1999, he returned to Coca-Cola in 2005, becoming chief executive in 2008 and chairman in 2009. He is active in the global business community and charities and serves on boards including Special Olympics International. He is married with two children and lives in Atlanta.
Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry Istanbul Directorate announced that number of tourists arriving Istanbul in December 2012. A total of 652.790 tourists arrived Istanbul in December 2012, 19 per cent more compare to December 2011. The number of international tourist arrivals between January and December in 2012 and 2011 were 9.381.670 and 8.057.879 respectively. In 2012, more than 1 million tourists visited Istanbul in contrast to the number of arrivals in 2011. It accounts an increase of 16.4 per cent.
Turkish American Heritage Political Action Committee (TurkishPAC), a Texas-based and U.S.A. Federal Election Committee (FEC) registered nonprofit political organization, raised more than $55,000 through multiple fundraising events. TurkishPAC had close to 60 donors contributing from $10 to $10,000. It had contributors challenging us to raise money in order to provide matching funds. Setting aside the matching contributions, the average donation was about $400. The highest donation amount excluding the matching contributions was $4,000. The failure of Fort Lee Federal Savings Bank, New Jersey's first bank failure of 2012, will cost the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. about $14 million. Of the five banks to fail statewide since the start of the financial crisis in 2008, that sum is the smallest yet. 2011's failure of First State Bank in Cranford at $45.8 million was the most expensive for the FDIC, among the New Jersey insolvencies. And smaller, of course, is better for managers of the fund that backs customers' deposits up to $250,000. The organizers of Fort Lee Federal Saving Banks were Haralambos S. Kostakopoulos, Yasemin K. On January 23-31, 2013, the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Agency for International Development will send a delegation of senior U.S. officials to Turkey and Jordan. Throughout the trip, the delegation will meet with senior government and humanitarian officials, the Syrian Opposition Council and others to discuss the humanitarian situation in and around Syria and ways the United States can provide additional support.
Washington, D.C. – Idaho Senators Mike Crapo and Jim Risch and Congressman Mike Simpson are asking the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to recognize Greek yogurt under their MyPlate nutrition guidelines. In a letter to Secretary Vilsack, they point out that Greek yogurt has twice the protein and more calcium than regular yogurt, and is low in fat.
Basoglu Cable and Profile looks for opportunities in the US market. Atahan Cilasin, assistant of international sales manager of Basoglu Cable, paid a visit major US cable companies to introduce Basoglu's products to U.S. market. Cilasin visited Turkish cable companies Sark Wire in Albany and CN Wire in Connecticutt, Wesco in Pittsburg, (PA), Anixter, which has the biggest market share of US market with 29 percent, in Glenview (IL).
