Turkish Premier Congratulates US President on Election Win
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that he would like to congratulate US President Barack Obama on his election victory. Erdogan, who is visiting Bali to attend the 5th Bali Democracy Forum, replied to questions of Turkish reporters.
Turkey and the United States have turned their strategic partnership into a model partnership, he said.
The two countries worked together not only in the world politics but also in the region, he said.
Erdogan said that Obama and Mitt Romney performed well during their election campaigns.
Premier Erdogan said that he had sent a telegram to Obama, congratulating him on his success as well as congratulatory telegram to Vice President Joe Biden.
Erdogan said that they would keep exerting efforts to boost Turkish-American relations in the coming period.
"I believe that we will take more fruitful steps in regard to Turkish-US relations," he said. (http://www.turkishweekly.net)
