TURKOFAMERICA is founded by two young Turkish enterprenuers in August 2002. The magazine is the first Turkish American nationwide business magazine and its mission is to report news about the Turkish-American community in the U.S.

The magazine's content includes primarily the lives of Turkish people in the U.S. and their social, cultural and economic activities as well as the activities of Americans who are related in any way with Turkey or the Turkish community.

TURKOFAMERICA serves as a bridge that brings together the Turkish people living in the U.S. and Americans interested in Turkey.

New York based TURKOFAMERICA is committed to constantly expanding its distribution network in the U.S. At present, the magazine reaches its readers in almost 50 states by subscription.

TURKOFAMERICA is a quarterly magazine. It is published four times in a year. 

DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
- IN THE U.S.
In the United States, the magazine is distributed through two different channels:
1- People can get subscriptions through www.turkofamerica.com web site and receive the magazine. 
2. TURKOFAMERICA is mailed to individuals, institutions, and other entities that serve the Turkish community or has extensive communication with Turkish community in their respective region. U.S. based Turkish associations, consulates and businesses are included in this segment. The magazine is also sent to American companies doing business with Turkey, to members of the U.S. Senate (100 senators) and to the members of the American Turkish Council. The magazine, which is published in English and Turkish, is also distributed to airline passengers at the Delta Airlines business class between Istanbul-New York flights.

- IN TURKEY
TURKOFAMERICA is distributed to a broad audience in Turkey that includes holdings, banks, advertising and PR companies, and the press. The magazine is also sent to senior officials including the Turkish President, the Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Chief of Staff.

A one-year advertiser may also ask Turk of America to mail the magazine to 100 addresses of his or her choice, free of charge.

Turkish NGOs Warn US Against Cooperating with FETO

Turkish groups on Tuesday published a full-page advertisement in the Washington Post newspaper urging U.S. President Donald Trump not to cooperate with terror groups. The open letter by the Turkish-American National Steering Committee (TASC), which represents nearly 150 nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) based in the U.S., emphasized the strengths of the Turkey-U.S. partnership in security and trade. Meeting between Turkish and US leaders comes just days after Trump's decision to arm Kurdish YPG fighters in Syria. Hande Meissner Is Elected President of IDEA

The Officers were elected by the IDEA Board of Trustees and began serving their terms earlier this month. Hande Meissner was elected President. Meissner has served on the Board of Directors since 2014 and is the Vice President of Operations of NexGen Digital, Inc., an IDEA Member since 2003. Hande also serves on numerous IDEA Committees and is providing leadership as Co-Chair for the creation of a new purchasing guidelines standard specific to the open market.

Daron Acemoglu Awarded Prestigious Carnegie Fellowships

Image MIT economist Daron Acemoglu and political scientists Richard Nielsen and Charles Stewart III have been named to the 2017 class of Andrew Carnegie Fellows, a prestigious honor supporting research in the social sciences and humanities. The MIT trio is among 35 scholars and intellectuals receiving the fellowships, which are awarded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York. Each fellow receives up to $200,000 to support a research sabbatical. Acemoglu, Nielsen, and Stewart are each pursuing long-term scholarly projects relating to political institutions, authority, and legitimacy. The three scholars discussed the nature of their ongoing research with MIT News, and shared their reactions to receiving the Carnegie fellowships.

Chobani Yogurt Is Suing Alex Jones for $10,000

Chobani, the yogurt company, has filed a lawsuit against Alex Jones, the high-profile conspiracy theorist and the host of a popular right-wing radio show, for posting what it called false news reports about the company and its owner. The suit, filed on Monday in district court in Twin Falls County, Idaho, named Mr. Jones and the media companies InfoWars and Free Speech Systems as defendants. It called “false” and “defamatory” several reports that appeared on InfoWars alleging that the company’s factory in Idaho, which employs refugees, was connected to a 2016 child sexual assault and a rise in tuberculosis cases.
