How Chobani Won the Greek Yogurt War with Experiential Marketing

Ten years ago, Greek yogurt represented less than 1% of U.S. yogurt sales. Today, it's almost half of the total market. What changed? In a word, Chobani. Launched by Hamdi Ulukaya in 2007, the Idaho-based brand introduced Greek yogurt to the American palate. Chobani now controls 38% of the Greek category, significantly outpacing former heavyweights like Yoplait and Dannon. The man responsible for Chobani's rise, perhaps just as much as the brand's founder, is CMO Peter McGuinness. Hired in 2013, McGuinness saw that the Greek yogurt market had become oversaturated.

The list is distinctive in that it identifies Turkish Americans who are innovative, courageous, and successful in their fields. The list highlights Turkish American entrepreneurs, corporate executives, social entrepreneurs, political and civil leaders.

40 Under 40 Most Influential Turkish-Americans

On March 17th was the third annual TOA Awards in New York City. TOA Awards was organized by TOA Consulting. Together with their Philanthropic Partner Turkish Philanthropy Funds, and event partners TAIK (Turkey US Business Council) and DEIK (Foreign Economic Relations Board) for the evening, TOA was able to shape an unforgettable event for the Turkish American community of not only New York, but also California, Washington DC and many other states.

THO and a distinguished panel of experts on July 13 for a new look at the July 15 coup attempt one year later and its ongoing impact on the U.S.-Turkey relationship as well as Turkey's regional outlook. Last year's failed coup attempt, carried out by a faction within the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), took a considerable toll on the Turkish nation and created enormous domestic, regional, and international risks.

Amid US-Turkey Tensions, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson Meets Turkish Leaders

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson held talks with Turkish leaders in Istanbul on issues ranging from Syria to last year's failed coup. After arriving from Ukraine, Tillerson met with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu yesterday and later held talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, officials on both sides said. No statement was issued after the late night talks at the Istanbul residence of Erdogan by the Bosphorus. Tillerson, the former chief executive of energy giant Exxon Mobil, earlier addressed the opening ceremony of the World Petroleum Congress, notably mentioning the defeat of last year's failed coup against Erdogan.

The Number of Turkish People with Anti-American Sentiments Has Increased by 28 Percent

The number of Turkish people with anti-American sentiments has increased by 28 percent in just three years, a BBC poll showed on Wednesday. Experts have claimed that the U.S.'s stance on the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) and the PKK's Syrian affiliate, the People's Protection Units (YPG), in particular have been the triggering factors for the increasing bad feeling. According to the poll conducted by GlobalScan and the Program for Public Consultation (PPC) for the British broadcaster, the ratio of Turks that view the United States negatively stands at 64 percent, compared to 36 percent in 2014.

In a blockbuster decision, the Miami City Commission wants to kill the deal with Flagstone Property Group to build a $1 billion mixed-use project on Watson Island.
