US-based Turkish Yogurt Tycoon Married in New York

United States based Chobani CEO Hamdi Ulukaya was married with Food Dreams Foundation president Louise Vongerichten, at the Turkish Consulate General in New York with a simple ceremony on Jan. 25. Ulukaya, 45, is of Turkish origin and the founder of the Chobani yogurt firm. His wife, 30, is of French origin and the co-founder of Food Dreams Foundation. The couple will reportedly hold a wedding ceremony in Turkey in summer months.

Indy Eleven Reaches Agreement to Play Games at Lucas Oil Stadium

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indy Eleven has reached an agreement to play their games at Lucas Oil Stadium in 2018. The Capital Improvement Board, Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett, and Indy Eleven owner Ersal Ozdemir made the announcement at 10 a.m. Monday morning. In the previous seasons, the team has played at IUPUI’s Carroll Stadium.

A Virginian in Love with Turkish Folk Music: Meg Davis

What would you ask an American who was born in West Virginia and studied in college in Holland’s Rotterdam; and, who is in love with Turkish folk music? My question to her was: ‘What’s wrong with you?’ And, she replied, laughing, that I was not the first person asking her that question. Meg Davis has completed her undergraduate studies at Codarts University of Arts in Holland and she is now getting prepared to have her master’s degree on Turkish pop music. However, although she started his graduate studies on pop music, she has also changed her major to Turkish Folk Music and studied it at undergraduate level.

Santa isn’t just a myth made up for kids on Christmas. He did exist and he did give generous gifts, though not via chimneys on Dec. 25, as popular legend tells it. By this time next year, you may even be able to visit him in his original setting, say Turkish archaeologists. What we know today as Santa Claus was originally Saint Nicholas, and he was traditionally celebrated on Dec. 6, the anniversary of his death. Born in the village Petara in Asia Minor (now Turkey) in the late third century, Nicholas was known for his literal and spiritual generosity. He inherited great wealth but gave away his riches, joining the Christian church and becoming a bishop in the the city of Myra.

I have specially enjoyed the future film “Cold of Kalandar” and the short movie “Exhibit”.

'Lost,' 'Prison Break' Director Bobby Roth Named Creative Supervisor for Russian-Turkish Spy Series

U.S. director Bobby Roth, known for Lost and Prison Break, has been hired as creative supervisor on Sultan moyego serdsa (The Sultan of My Heart), a Russian-Turkish TV series. "I think this is a classic story and the conflicts described in it will be recognizable to viewers in different countries," Roth said in a press release. "Especially I liked the two main characters." The series is produced by KIT Film Studio, which is part of Gazprom Media, the natural gas giant Gazprom’s media wing, and Turkey's Maya Productions Ltd. The Sultan of My Heart is a combination of a spy thriller and melodrama, set in Turkey in the 1920s and centered on Russian diplomats and their families as well as the Ottoman dynasty.
